Local Monitoring and Evaluation of the PROFarmS Project in Poblacion, San Isidro, Bohol

Despite the heavy downpours last February 7, 2009, the joint monitoring team of the Municipal Poverty Reduction Action Team (MPRAT) headed by Engr. Roger Laquinta, MPDC of San Isidro and Bohol Local Development Foundation (BLDF) headed by Dr. Nepomucena D. Buot, conducted the local monitoring and evaluation of the PROFarmS Project in Poblacion, San Isidro, Bohol. The half-day activity aimed to assess the level of viability of the farmer organization beneficiary Poblacion Farmers Association (PFA) organized by BLDF in collaboration with the LGU of San Isidro with financial assistance from PACAP (Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program). Highlight of the afternoon activity was the initial release of the Microfinance grant funds worth P100,000.00 from PACAP to the Poblacion Farmers Association (PFA) chaired by Mr. Melchor Antiola. The check was handed to Mr. Antiola by the BLDF Executive Director Dr. Pomie Buot. A total of P125,000.00 is allocated by PACAP for San Isidro farmer beneficiaries of PROFarmS (Poverty Reduction through Organic Farming System) project in San Isidro. Witnessing the event were Engr. Laquinta, Raul Limocon, the FOCAS Coordinator of LGU San Isidro and the Kagawad Committee Chairman on Agriculture, Mr. Felimon Mantabute. Mr. Romeo Torralba, the Municipal Agriculture Officer was also present during the monitoring activity but left earlier for an important appointment.
