BLDF ANNIVERSARY

BLDF ANNIVERSARY: Bohol Local Development Foundation (BLDF) celebrated its sixth anniversary last Aug 15 with a simple ceremony and a visit to the tomb of its former vice chair, Atty. Juanito Cambangay, who passed away two years ago. Shown in photo are the staff with Dr. Nestor Pestelos ( sixth from the left). Dr. Pestelos announced that starting next month, BLDF will focus on microfinance as key intervention to enable farmers and fisher-folk cope with poverty and on the promotion of the Poverty Database Monitoring System (PDMS) survey and software which has been enhanced in recent months by the addition of assets mapping at household and community levels. Its designer, Anthony Irving (third from left), has been working on the replication and enhancement of the software for the past five years to make it as user-friendly as possible for Local Government Units (LGUs), NGOs and other clients. Eulalie Albuladora (third from the right), BLDF Executive Director, will head directly the microfinance department which has funding assistance from the Peace and Equity Foundation and the Agricultural Credit Policy Council.
